Present

Nothing happens by accident...

If one day when you wake up, you would find on your bed a beautifully wrapped present with delicate bows, you would open it before even washing your face, curious about what is inside...

Maybe what you find is something you do not like very much...then you would put away the box wondering what to do with the present...but, if the next day you find another present, you would open it also and, if this time you find something inside that you like very much..A memory from someone that is far away, a beautiful clothing you saw on a window shop, the keys to a new car, a beautiful winter coat or just a beautiful flower from somebody that remembered you.....

This happens every day, but we do not realize it...
Every day when we wake up, it is there, before us, a present sent to us by God....a whole day to use in the best possible way..Sometimes it comes with problems, issues that we do not seem to be able to solve. Sometimes it comes with sadness, deception, even tears...

But other times it comes full of surprises, happiness, success and achievements......
What is important is that every day we receive a present, wrapped especially for us while we sleep: THE NEXT DAY.

We are presented this box with colored bows, no matter what the day brings........
That day when we wake up every morning is a PRESENT.....The present that life gives us. It is not always what we wish or what we hope for......But it is the best for us, what we need most, what we have to learn.....what we need to grow...

Open your PRESENT every day, giving thanks first to the Creator that gave it to you, without thinking what is inside the box.

If today you do not receive the present you wanted, wait for the next one....and appreciate what you received today. Tomorrow... Open your present with love and enthusiasm, because one day your dreams and the life plan for you will come inside the box, beautifully wrapped for you...

Life does not care about what we want....just about what we need.....
May you have a day full of blessings, in which you can feel the loving presence of your Creator, and may the present of every day bring you peace, spiritual growth, and enlightment on all we still have to learn about every day, and the plan life has for us, every day.....

Pop icon Michael Jackson dead at 50

Michael Jackson is dead after suffering a cardiac arrest, sending shockwaves sweeping across the world and tributes pouring in Friday for the tortured music icon revered as the "King of Pop."

Jackson, 50, collapsed at his rented mansion in the exclusive Los Angeles neighborhood of Holmby Hills and was rushed to hospital by paramedics before being pronounced dead at 2:26 pm (2126 GMT) on Thursday.

One of the most influential figures in pop history whose career included the highest-selling album of all-time, "Thriller," Jackson had been preparing for a concert comeback in London next month he had dubbed "the final curtain."

News of his death triggered an outpouring of grief as shocked celebrities, foreign governments and devoted fans from Beijing to Beverly Hills paid tribute to the troubled star.

Lieutenant Fred Corral, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, said an autopsy would likely be carried out on Friday and would not speculate on the exact cause of death.

Jackson's brother Jermaine, the family's official spokesman, later revealed physicians had battled for more than an hour to revive the star after his arrival at the UCLA Medical Center before he was pronounced dead.

"Our family requests that the media please respect our privacy during this tough time," Jermaine Jackson said. "May Allah be with you, Michael, always."

CORRECT WAY OF COOKING NOODLES

The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and health. Normally, we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat..

This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles.

By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structures of the MSG causing it to be toxic.

The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have taken the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD:

  1. boil the noodles in a pot with water.
  2. once the noodles is cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax.
  3. boil another pot of water till boiling and put the noodles into the hot boiling water and then shut the fire.
  4. only at this stage when the fire is off, and while the water is very hot, put the ingredient with the powder into the water, to make noodle soup.
  5. however, if you need dry noodles, take out the noodles and add the ingredient with the powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Dietician's Note:

If you buy plain hakka noodles which you make initially need to boil in water and discard the water. This will soften the noodles but to prevent it from sticking we need to add a tbsp of oil and also the noodles are deep fried partially to make it crunchy and then dusted with flour to prevent it from sticking while boiling.
Hence when you buy the noodles they are already made unhealthy and this is the type we use to make stir fry noodles and the regular maggi too is made the same way plus they add MSG/ ajinomoto and other chemical preservatives.

A large number of patient with the ages ranging from 18-24 years are ending up with pancreatitis either as a swelling or infection of the pancreas due to regular consumption of instant noodles..... If the frequency is more than 3 times a week, then it is very hazardous...

Chubby people live longest: Japan study

Health experts have long warned of the risk of obesity, but a new Japanese study warns that being very skinny is even more dangerous, and that slightly chubby people live longer.

People who are a little overweight at age 40 live six to seven years longer than very thin people, whose average life expectancy was shorter by some five years than that of obese people, the study found.

"We found skinny people run the highest risk," said Shinichi Kuriyama, an associate professor at Tohoku University's Graduate School of Medicine who worked on the long-term study of middle-aged and elderly people.

"We had expected thin people would show the shortest life expectancy but didn't expect the difference to be this large," he told AFP by telephone.

The study was conducted by a health ministry team led by Tohoku University professor Ichiro Tsuji and covered 50,000 people between the ages of 40 and 79 over 12 years in the northern Japanese prefecture of Miyagi.

"There had been an argument that thin people's lives are short because many of them are sick or smoke. But the difference was almost unchanged even when we eliminated these factors," Kuriyama said.

Main reasons for the shorter lifespans of skinny people were believed to include their heightened vulnerability to diseases such as pneumonia and the fragility of their blood vessels, he said.

But Kuriyama warned he was not recommending people eat as much as they want.

"It's better that thin people try to gain normal weight, but we doubt it's good for people of normal physique to put on more fat," he said.

The study divided people into four weight classes at age 40 according to their body mass index, or BMI, calculated by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by their squared height in metres.

The normal range is 18.5 to 25, with thinness defined as under 18.5. A BMI of 25 to 30 was classed as slightly overweight and an index above 30 as obese.

"EGO.....Kills You"

There was once a scientist. After a lot of practice & efforts, he developed a formula & learned the art of reproducing himself. He did it so perfectly that it was impossible to tell the reproduction from the original.

One day while doing his research, he realized that the Angel of Death was searching for him. In order to remain alive he reproduced a dozen copies of himself. The reproduction was so similar that all of them looked exactly like him.

Now when this Angel of Death came down, he was at a loss to know which of the thirteen before him was the original scientist, & confused, he left them all alone & returned back to heaven.

But, not for long, for being an expert in human nature, the Angel came up with a clever idea. He said to the scientist addressing all thirteen of them, "Sir, you must be a genius to have succeeded in making such perfect reproduction formula of yourself. However, I have discovered a flaw in your work, just one tiny little flaw."

The scientist immediately jumped out & shouted,

"Impossible! where is the flaw?"

"Right here" said the Angel, as he picked up the scientist from among the reproductions & carried him off.

The whole purpose of the scientist & his formula of reproduction failed as he could not control his pride, so he lost his life.

So when man's Knowledge & Skills takes him to the top of the ladder & makes him successful, however the three letter word "EGO" can pull him down to earth immediately at its double speed.

So don't allow Ego to kill yourself,

Instead; KILL YOUR EGO..!!!

Gratitude

Take some time out and read these beautiful words carefully.
Later, reflect on what you have just read. Surely you will understand a lot of things…

First Lesson

... After some months at the faculty of medicine, the professor gave us a test.
Being a good student, I quickly answered all the questions… all, but the last: “What is the baptism name of the maid of our institute?
I handed over my test paper, leaving the last question unanswered. Just before the lesson ended, another student inquired if the last question would be marked.
“Certainly!", the professor replied. “You will meet many people in your life. All of them will have some degree of importance
They will deserve your attention, even if it is a simple smile or a simple hello". I never forgot this lesson… and went on to learn that the baptism name of our maid was Marianna.

Second Lesson

On a rainy, tempestuous night a “coloured” woman was standing on the roadside. Her car had broken down and she desperately needed help. Wet to her core, she signalled to the passers by.
A white young man, as if unaware of the racial conflicts that tore apart America in the 60s, stopped to help her.
He conducted her to a safe place, called a mechanic and hailed a taxi for her. The woman seemed too much in a hurry, but did not forget to thank him and take down his address on a piece of paper.
Seven days had already passed when someone knocked at the door of the young man.
To his enormous surprise, it was a courier with a huge packet to deliver – a big colour TV along with a note:

“Many thanks for helping me on the road that night.
The rain had completely drenched me and my soul when you appeared.
Thanks to you I was able to reach my dying husband just in time.
God bless you for having helped me.

Sincerely,
Mrs. King Cole"

Third Lesson

Sometime ago, when the ice-creams were not so expensive, a ten-year old boy went to an ice-cream parlour. While sitting at the table, he asked the waitress, “How much does a Sundae cost?” “50 cents,” she replied. The boy took out his money from the pocket and began counting it. “Well, how much does a simple ice-cream cost?".
There were other people waiting to be served, so the waitress began to get a little impatient. "35 cents!" she replied abruptly. The boy counted his money again and said: “Please get me a simple ice-cream!"
The waitress served him the ice-cream and his bill. The boy ate his ice-cream, paid his bill at the cash counter and left.
When the waitress went to clean the table she began to cry… for there, in the corner of the plate, were 15 cents… her tip.
The boy took a simple ice-cream instead of a Sundae so he could leave a tip for her.

If you have never experienced the danger of war or the solitude of imprisonment, the agony of torture and hunger, you are much ahead of the 500 million people who live in this world.

If you have never experienced the danger of war or the solitude of imprisonment, the agony of torture and hunger, you are much ahead of the 500 million people who live in this world.

If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes to wear, a roof on your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than the 75% of the people who live on this Earth.

If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes to wear, a roof on your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than the 75% of the people who live on this Earth.

If you have money in your bank account and your wallet and some loose change in some little box, you are one of the world’s 8% well-to-do population.

If you are able to read this message, you have just received a double blessing…
one, someone is thinking about you…
two, you are not one of those 2,000,000,000 people who are illiterate!

Somebody said at some time:

Work as if you have no need of the money.
Love as if nobody ever made you suffer.
Dance as if nobody is watching you.
Sing as if nobody is hearing you.
Live as if the Paradise were on this Earth.

Dumped mattress lands cash in trash in Israel

A stash of cash landed in the trash when a woman in Israel dumped her mother's mattress not knowing it was stuffed with the equivalent of about one million dollars.

Israeli media reported that the 40-year-old woman showed up at a garbage dump in a panic on Tuesday, looking for the valuable bedding.

She had bought a new mattress for her mother and, wanting the gift to be a surprise, threw away the old one. She then found out the decades-old mattress contained her mother's life savings.

Workers are helping her search the garbage, but have found no sign of the cash so far.

7/10 of a Second to Die

THIS IS A GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION OF WHAT HAPPENS IN AN ACCIDENT. IF THIS KIND OF INFORMATION BOTHERS YOU, PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE!

It takes seven tenths of a second to kill a person on a vehicle crash. Studies at Yale and Cornell Universities provided a dramatic split second chronology of what happens when a car rams into a tree at 55 mph. To get an idea of this short amount of time, it takes approximately 2/10 of a second to blink! We suggest you picture your young son or daughter in the driver’s seat.

At 1/10 of a second, the front bumper and grill collapse.

At 2/10 of a second the hood crumbles, rises, and smashes into the windshield while the grillwork disintegrates.

At 3/10 of a second your son/daughter is sprung upright from their seat, their knees break from being jammed under the dashboard, and the steering wheel bends and twist under their grip.

At 4/10 of a second the front of the car is destroyed and dead still, but the rear of the vehicle is still traveling at 55 mph. The half-ton motor impacts with the tree.

At 5/10 of a second your kid's fear-frozen hands bend the steering column into an almost vertical position as they are impaled on the steering wheel shaft. Jagged steel punctures their lungs and arteries.

At 6/10 of a second the impact rips the shoes you bought them off their feet. The vehicle chassis bends in the middle, and your kid's head is slammed into the windshield. The vehicle's rear end begins its downward fall as its spinning tires churn into the ground.

At 7/10 of a second, the entire body of the car is twisted grotesquely out of shape. In one final agonizing convulsion, the front seat rams forward pinning your kid against what used to be the steering wheel shaft and dashboard. Blood pours from their mouth, the result of massive internal injuries. Your kids face is torn into horrible lacerations from smashing through the windshield and almost every bone in their young body is broken. Shock has frozen your kids heart . . . but they don't mind . . . because they are already dead.

Please don't ever let your kids have to experience this! Studies have shown that teens are much safer drivers when they have actively involved parents. Please become very actively involved in your teen's life and driving!
